Install HostFog on your own server
One command on a fresh Ubuntu server installs every panel, webmail, email, DNS and free SSL.
1. Point your domain at the server
Before you install, add these A records at your DNS provider, so one free certificate covers them all. Not ready yet? That's fine — the real certificate is installed by itself within 5 minutes of DNS pointing at the server.
| Name | Type | Value | For |
|---|---|---|---|
| server.yourdomain.com | A | your server’s IP | Server Admin (for you) |
| panel.yourdomain.com | A | your server’s IP | Control Panel (customers) |
| reseller.yourdomain.com | A | your server’s IP | Reseller Panel |
| webmail.yourdomain.com | A | your server’s IP | Webmail |
| mx.yourdomain.com | A | your server’s IP | Mail server |
| ftp.yourdomain.com | A | your server’s IP | FTP |
2. Run the installer
Sign in to the server as root and run:
cd /home && curl -o latest -L https://get.hostfog.io/latest && bash latestThe installer asks a few questions (your domain and email), shows its progress, and prints the addresses of your three panels at the end.
3. Sign in
Open https://server.yourdomain.com and create your admin login. Your customers sign in at panel.yourdomain.com and resellers at reseller.yourdomain.com.
Prefer to install by hand?
Download the installation package, hostfog.zip, and its checksum, check it with sha256sum -c hostfog.zip.sha256, unzip it and run bash hostfog/install.sh.
Updating
Server Admin → HostFog updates installs a new version with one click (new versions are announced from get.hostfog.io), or run the same installer command again — your accounts and settings stay as they are.
Watch the install happen
The installer shows each step as it runs and checks the server at the end, so you know everything works before your first customer signs in.
