Getting started

  1. Sign in at https://panel.yourdomain.com:8443 with the admin login you created at the end of the install.
  2. Packages: check the default packages (Starter, Business, Pro), or make your own with disk, domain, mailbox and database limits.
  3. Accounts → New account: enter the customer's username, email, package and main domain. Tick Email login details to send them a welcome email.
  4. Point the customer's domain at your nameservers (ns1/ns2.yourdomain.com) or add an A record for it pointing at the server IP.
  5. SSL: nothing to do. AutoSSL installs a free Let's Encrypt certificate within minutes of the domain pointing at the server, and renews it. To see the status, open SSL/TLS in the customer's panel (use Log in as on the account).
  6. The customer uploads their site by SFTP, FTP or the File Manager (into web/<domain>/public_html), or installs WordPress from the App installer.
  7. They create mailboxes under Email accounts and read mail in Webmail. SPF, DKIM and DMARC are set up for them.

Moving from another control panel

Import accounts takes a full account backup from your old server (.tar.gz or .tar.zst). You can upload the file, give a download link, or put it in /home/hostfog-import. Websites, domains, databases, mailboxes (with all messages and the old passwords), forwarders, DNS records and cron jobs come across.
